First Christmas preparations!

So! Darius is going to be having his first Christmas this year! It's a shame that we couldn't have all of the family together! He's getting so big! Sooo! That just means lots of pictures to take for everyone! <3 Well here's an attempt at a family photo with him. He was quite difficult to take pictures of.

Then, of course we took single ones as well!
Daddy and Darius!

And of course Darius and I

His Christmas socks say, "My 1st" On one then the other says, "Christmas".

And of course he does what babies do, eats his fingers!!

He of course also spit up, so I had to change him again. So I put on another Christmas outfit I had gotten him. He was just too cute! And was in the mood to play afterward.

Shit Happens!!

We all know that having a baby around, some pretty gross things happen on a daily basis. I got lucky growing up with a baby, and doing lots of babysitting.  Of course there are things I'm still learning. Well my husband, being a new daddy and all got some wonderful new experiences! For example, the wonders of diaper changing!

A few weeks back, our son had a loaded diaper, and Chris decided he was going to change him this time. Well, little did he know, he wasn't done!! So, out of reaction, he stuck his hand beneath it and caught it! Man was I cracking up! Once he realized what he did he was so grossed out, then the little guy started peeing. I wanted to tell him to cover him up with a diaper but I was laughing to hard to say anything.

Then, the very next day, he did it AGAIN! I was like didn't you learn from the first time around? I was so amused by this incident, I kept trying to tell him that when he's aiming cover him up because he's going to pee. And always wait for a few mins after you think he's done going before changing him unless it's super loaded. Don't want any to come out if possible! And definitely want him to be finished!

7 weeks old!

So today Darius is now 7 Weeks and 2 days old!

First Chris and I took him out this morning and did a little stroll around the area and looked through some stores, then around 2 went home and my sister and I went out and did he love that! He loved looking at all of the girl clothes and hearing the Christmas music in all of the stores.

Wearing his Batman outfit! My little bat boy!

We tried going into one of the 99 cent stores and the lady wouldn't let us in because we had to leave the stroller up front but there was a baby in it! I guess they wanted us to either carry him or the car seat around the store. Talk about not family friendly. But either way we left, nothing we could do about it. Lady was irritated though that we went to another store instead of just walking around carrying him, but they aren't light, and kind of hard to carry him and the items at the same time.

So we get home and I change him because as babies do, he had spit up everywhere, and my sister got him cute booties that say "My first Christmas"

And Trying to keep him awake for a little while so he's not up all night I pulled out his play mat for him to play on and he absolutely LOVED it!

First Halloween!

Darius had his first Halloween as a Gentry bug (Lady bug) a BOY Lady bug. And was damn cute to! Of course he didn't fit the costume even though it was 0-3 months. He had gotten jaundice after he came home and lost a pound.

Of course he had a girl pacifier in the picture, but whatever works at the moment right? There are wings on the back but you can't see them because he is laying down on them.

And of course you know he's part of this family when he already loves to pose!

He's wearing his Halloween onesie that has a glow in the dark ghost on it and says BOO! Talk about ADORABLE!

Just too damn cute! He's definitely going to be a ladies man when he gets older!

The beginning!

Darius Michael George was born Saturday on October 13, 2012 at 10:27 Pm. He weighed 8 lbs exactly, and was 21 inches long with a head width of 14 Inches! Yes, he had a HUGE head! And here is the story of how my son came to this world!!

My Ob doctor told me two weeks before my due date that I needed to walk 3 hours a day because I was only 1 cm dilated, and that the baby was already ready to be born, and was already almost 8 lbs.  She said if I didn't have him soon I'd need to get a C-section because he'd be too big for my body to handle at a normal birth.  So I walked, then I went to my check up a week later I was still only 1 cm. So she said I could get induced on my due date Oct 12.  So, I went in and got some stuff done and they said I had already been in labor I just didn't realize it, then they added stuff to help me dilate and induced me. The next day, I was getting checked to see how dilated I was and the nurse accidentally popped  one of my bags, then later on checked and popped my last one. So my water broke manually! It took only an hour of pushing before he was born, of course they had to cut me twice and use a vacuum to get him out. Like I said HUGE head!

Eyes wide open and alert, AMAZING!

I wasn't able to go home until Monday evening, and man was I happy to go home. But let me just say, sitting on stitches, not the greatest experience!!

                                                      first night home!

So, I later find out after horrid nights of my baby sick and in tummy pain, that he didn't sit well with my breast milk. Then, that he was soy and lactose intolerant. So, my husband and I have been dealing with a very constipated colic baby. We are supposed to get this special formula that his pediatrician prescribed for him called nutramigen with LGG that WIC does not make vouchers for, but apparently they are supposed to mail them to me and it's been 3 almost 4 weeks since! My poor son is suffering because they are taking forever to send it. It went through to the main office here in CA. A little frustrating! Luckily my mother in law sent some soy formula, it's less harsh on his stomach.  When he was on the milk based formula he was vomiting, at least this one is only constipation and not vomit and constipation. I tried gentle ease before soy, but no difference. I was looking into what the LGG is, apparently it is for digestive health. This formula is not soy or milk based, and is for super colic babies. Lets hope it works, if I ever get it.
